As some owners are able to show the love and care they have towards their animal there are other owners who do not show the same affection but instead express the exact opposite like abuse their animal instead. Although there are a lot of things one needs to know about caring for an animal, owners specifically need to be addressed and informed as there are a lot of owners who do not think about the details, time and financial support to take care of an animal which can result in these animals to be euthanized in the future.
For example, from the website Why Guides, it explains how many owners do the following things: fail to remember to give their pet water and food, leave their pet in the car when it is really hot outside or even leave their dogs in unclean areas causing harmful health problems.Since these animals are not able to do much to protect themselves, owners would abuse their animal to make them feel strong and in control. Also children who own dogs abuse their animal to make them become more accepted by their group of friends. Many owners decide to take their anger out on animals because it is the simplest thing to do to relieve their stress.

Since most of these dogs who are abused are not able to fight back they are unable to do what humans are capable to do when we are in trouble: ask for help. Thus, the only way animals can find help is if other neighbors or friends call authorities and report an abused dog.

Unfortunately, many of these owners do not understand the laws which are being broken and what the penalties are if they choose to abuse their innocent animal.
But, there are a lot of states today who now have laws for anyone who abuses their animals. According to the website Stray Pet Advocacy, for California the penalty if you do abuse your animal would be a fine up to $20,000 and even imprisonment for up to a year. Each state has their own penalty price depending on how important animal cruelty is to their state. The purpose of these laws is to punish the owners who are causing harm to another living thing and to protect the animals who are suffering from entering pounds and being put to sleep.
Therefore, due to the owners mistreating their animals heath problems in animals has risen. Common health problems abused dogs are living with are broken bones, eye infections, flea problems, open wounds which are getting infected,being underweight, etc.
Today, it is our job to help these animals who are suffering from current owners who are abusive to them. The best way to help these lower the number of animals being abused would be by reporting the situation to the police. Overall, if more owners were being educated on the penalties that will happen then less dogs will hopefully be abused.
